At the end of May Joey surprised us with taking the day off so we headed over to a wildlife center called Fossil Rim. We visited this place last year during Spring Break and it took us 4 hours to complete the 7 mile drive. This time we were one of only a few visitors and so it only took us about an hour to complete the drive. However, we took our time and spent some time to enjoy the petting zoo and snack shack at the halfway point. The animals were much more active this time and more willing to eat from our hand….when it’s crowded they get a full tummy quick so being one of only a few visitors for the day really helped. The best part was feeding the giraffes. They were just waiting for us to come by and feed them….even the little babies ate from our hand ;o) I highly recommend a visit to Fossil Rim if you are ever in the DFW area ;o) I suggest going at the end of April or beginning of May when the weather is nice and before school is out….you’ll get what you payed for if you do it on an off day. NO WEEKENDS!
