Baby Logan’s Arrival

So it has been awhile since I have posted anything. Things have been a little hectic around here with everything that is going on with baby Logan. For those of you not on facebook, here is a quick update from my little sister, Sara…
My older sister, Elizabeth, had her baby Logan July 15th. However, she had to have an emergency c-section because Logan was not getting enough nutrients through the umbilical cord and therefore was measuring 26 weeks rather than 29. Elizabeth had him at 29 weeks. He is a little guy (only 2.2 pounds) but such a cutie and a very special baby. God has protected this little one and performed so many miracles already. July 15th, Liz hadn’t felt the baby move in several hours and was very concerned. So she went to the doctor, almost embarrassed that she was making such a big deal about it. When she got to the hospital, the sonographer could not get the baby to respond and immediately said they needed to get the baby out. Logan was hours away from not surviving. Liz and Cliff did not have a chance to even see him until hours later in NICU. Logan has a long road ahead of him. It is a miracle he is here today. If Liz had not reacted and had waited any longer, he would not be here with us. God is so good and so faithful to take care of His children. Today, Logan is doing fairly well! He has had his ups and downs, but he is definitely a little fighter! The doctors are concerned that he has not made the strides that he should and so they will be doing a corrective surgery on his PDA (heart surgery). They will have to collapse his lungs and go in through the side. He will be on pain medication, but will not be put “under.” It is too dangerous to put a preemie “under.”Please pray for peace that passes understanding for Elizabeth, Cliff, and big brother Corbin! Also pray that Logan will come through his surgery with flying colors so that he can improve as he should!Thanks to EVERYONE who has liften baby Logan up in prayer! They are heard and felt every day:-)
